Four legs

One back

Chairs surround

Relax

Do you see us hold us know us

Breakfast lunch dinner parties

Do we regard these?

Days around you

Talking laughing banter chatting

Do you ever wonder who we’ll be?

How long we’ll stay around?

How long we’ll have these bodies?

Tonight we commune

Dark night saloons

You sit there under our drinks

Do you wonder what makes us think?

Are we better then

When age sets in

Will we remember you?

Holding our meals

Our plates drinks upheld

Sitting next to people

Who will change tomorrow

But tonight until

Your legs give out

Your back caves in

We’ll be here

Dark night saloon

Thinking of you

Tonight commune

How long too soon

Who knows who we’ll be

Who knows when we’ll see

You as more than

Four legs

One back

Waiting for us

To unpack

Our thoughts laughs chats

Humbled by space

Riddled by time

You see us now

In our prime
